November has arrived, bringing crisp mornings, golden sunsets and the annual San Diego tradition of wondering whether 68 degrees officially counts as sweater weather.

It’s a month for gathering, giving thanks and enjoying our beautiful city before the holiday rush begins. From food and craft beer to live music, a special golf after dark meetup to a few annual SMB neighborhood traditions, here’s what we’re looking forward to this month!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first-anniversary cruise on Mission Bay!
Celebrating one year of marriage aboard the Paddle Pub—surrounded by friends, bay days and laughter — was exactly how we wanted to mark the occasion. We’re so grateful to everyone who came aboard and made the afternoon so special.

⛳ OUR NOVEMBER OUTING: NIGHT GOLF & LIVE MUSIC AT MISSION BAY | FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27
Cue the lights! Night golf is back at Mission Bay Golf Course! Join us for a post Thanksgiving Day celebration with an afternoon/evening on the driving range, followed by live music at The Harland Clubhouse for local beer, great food a relaxed outdoor vibe. Join us, even if you think your golf swing should be left in the dark!
Where: Mission Bay Golf Course & The Harland Clubhouse
Time: 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Night golf runs seven days a week, with evening tee times through 7:30 p.m. and course lights on until 9:15 p.m.; Harland confirms live music every Friday. Evening tee times are expected to fill quickly, so book ahead through the Mission Bay Golf Course reservation portal.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AROUND SAN DIEGO

🌭 South Mission Beach Chili Dog Fundraiser | November 5
A beloved neighborhood tradition returns for its 25th year! Head to The Beachcomber for chili dogs prepared by Chef Jobie, football and an afternoon of South Mission Beach community spirit.

There’s no set ticket price—just bring your appetite and a generous donation. All proceeds benefit Support the Enlisted Project’s “Sharing the Joy” campaign, helping local military and veteran families during the holiday season. Time: 4pm - 7pm

🏇 Del Mar Fall Racing Season | November 5–29
The ponies are back where the turf meets the surf! Enjoy weekend racing, dining, live entertainment and the excitement of the season at the Del Mar Racetrack.

🍷 San Diego Food + Wine Festival | November 6–8
Acclaimed chefs, wineries, craft breweries and culinary talent come together for one delicious weekend, culminating in the Grand Tasting along the Embarcadero.

🍺 San Diego Beer Week | November 6–15
Support San Diego’s incredible independent brewing community during ten days of tastings, pairing dinners, special releases and events throughout the county.

South Mission’s favorite holiday tradition is back! Join friends and neighbors at The Beachcomber to officially kick off the holiday drinking season with familiar faces, plenty of cheer and Joe’s heartfelt annual toast to the community we’re so lucky to call home.

🎄 Liberty Station Holiday Tree Lighting | November 27
Welcome the holiday season with the lighting of Liberty Station’s towering Norfolk pine, plus live entertainment, festive firetruck rides and an outdoor showing of The Grinch.

🖤 Alice Cooper | November 17
The original shock-rock showman brings his Alice’s Attic Tour to Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU. Expect theatrical mayhem, macabre stagecraft and classics like “School’s Out” and “No More Mr. Nice Guy.” Steve wouldn’t miss it.
Show is at 8! We plan to meet up at Eureka for happy hour at 6pm!

🌵 Son Volt with Kelly Willis | November 21
Alt-country favorites Son Volt bring their rootsy blend of Americana, rock and thoughtful songwriting to the Music Box. Acclaimed Texas singer-songwriter Kelly Willis opens the night, making this an especially strong pick for fans of honest songs, great musicianship and an intimate venue.
